Emerald Ridge has hired former Bethel boys basketball coach Pat Mullen to lead the Jaguars’ program. Mullen was at Bethel for 16 years and took the Braves to the state tournament nine times. He reached the Class 4A finals twice, winning the state title in 2005.

I’m going to try to get a hold of Mullen and will post more.

Mullen replaces Ben Muehlenbruch, who resigned his position after four years as the head coach.

  1. I have been a high school basketball fan for ever. I have attended bethel games home & away since Pat Mullen has been coach. I had the privilege to watch all the bethel state tournament teams. I believe that a few of those teams would not have made it to state if Pat Mullen had not been the coach. He has a way to take average players and mold them into a great Team. I have noticed that when they have played far superior teams, bethel holds them far below thier average score. He is a great coach, Iam surpised that he has not been taken by a college. He will do well at emerald ridge. Bethel lost a great coach. I think emerald ridge has only beaten bethel 1 time in thier school history. I think things will change now, I cant wait for thier 1st game with bethel.
