Bellarmine Prep (11-1) vs. No. 3 Ferris (12-0), 5 p.m. Monday, Tacoma Dome
Live updates: You can find live updates of the game here on the Prep Blog during the game
Lowdown: Too much snow on the turf and no way to remove it forced this game to be played today in Tacoma, instead of Saturday in Spokane. The postponed game doesn’t provide a huge boost to either team – Bellarmine Prep spent two days in a bus, crisscrossing the state – but Ferris might even have a slight edge because the Saxons played on the Tacoma Dome’s slick surface and cavernous atmosphere last season and the Lions have no experience playing in the venue. The only winners? Bellarmine Prep fans that could not make the trip to Spokane, but can make it to the dome tonight. For the second week in a row, Bellarmine Prep will face a top-five team with a recent history of postseason success. Can the Lions shock the state again? Bellarmine Prep has the athletes to keep up with the Greater Spokane League champions and its linemen rose up in the second half against bigger Bothell in the quarterfinals and controlled the line of scrimmage. QB Sefo Liufau and WR Michael Rector hooked up for three touchdowns last week. If Ferris clamps down on Rector, Liufau can look to Scott Comfort or Jacob Wisness to make plays downfield. Ferris’ defense carried the Saxons to a 13-7 win over previously undefeated Chiawana in the quarterfinals. Three Saxons (DL Drew Sharkey, LB Grant Livingston and DB Cody Sorenson) earned all-league honors. RB Kole Heidinger, WR Jordan Tonani and OL Dillon Beschel were first-team picks on offense.
TNT pick: Bellarmine Prep 27, Ferris 24
