Tacoma News Tribune’s Week 10 prep football rankings

CLASS 4A
1. Skyline (8-1)
2. Curtis (9-0)
3. Ferris (9-0)
4. Kentwood (9-0)
5. Bothell (7-2)
6. Chiawana (8-0)
7. Rogers (Puyallup) (8-1)
8. Gonzaga Prep (7-2)
9. Skyview (7-2)
10. Eastlake (7-2)
Next: Arlington (7-2), Auburn (7-2), Bellarmine Prep (8-1), Bethel (6-3), Eastlake (7-2), Issaquah (7-2), Newport Olympia (8-1), Richland (8-1), Union (7-2).

There’s some slight movement in the rankings this week. Kentwood and Bothell swapped spots after Bothell fell to No. 1 Skyline, 31-21, in the KingCo championship game.

Gonzaga Prep lost to No. 3 Ferrris, 38-13, and dropped two spots to No. 8. With the Bullpups falling, Chiawana and Rogers each moved up a rung.

Union fell out of the top 10 after losing to Skyview, 37-34, and the Storm return to the rankings at No. 9.

Eastlake moves into the top 10 in place of Olympia, which needed overtime to beat Shelton.

CLASS 3A
1. Bellevue (8-1)
2. Capital (9-0)
3. Camas (9-0)
4. Juanita (8-1)
5. Lakes (8-1)
6. Kamiakin (9-0)
7. Liberty (6-3)
8. Mount Spokane (8-1)
9. Glacier Peak (8-1)
10. O’Dea (8-1)
Next: Bonney Lake (7-2), Eastmont (5-3), Ferndale (7-2), Franklin (7-2), Kennedy Catholic (8-1), Mount Si (5-4), Timberline (6-3).

A minor shakeup at the top, with Capital moving into the second spot and Camas falling one spot to third. The Papermakers won the 3A GSHL title last week, but lost quarterback Logan Grindy, the co-Player of the Year in the 3A GSHL last season, for the season because of a broken leg. That’s a tough loss, especially at this point in the season.

Liberty was the only top-10 team that lost last week, a 23-20 defeat to top-ranked Bellevue. Lakes and Kamiakin leapfrogged Liberty in the rankings.

Liberty fell three spots after losing to No. 1 Bellevue, 23-20.

CLASS 2A
1. Archbishop Murphy (9-0)
2. Lynden (9-0)
3. Tumwater (8-1)
4. Prosser (8-1)
5. W.F. West (8-1)
6. Othello (7-2)
7. Sequim (8-1)
8. Centralia (7-2)
9. Lakewood (7-2)
10. Ellensburg (7-2)
Next: Anacortes (6-3), Burlington-Edison (6-3), Clarkston (6-3), Clover Park (5-4), Deer Park (7-2), Eatonville (7-2), Lindbergh (7-2), Port Angeles (8-1), Sumner (7-2), Toppenish (6-3).

The top six teams remain the same. Burlington-Edison and Port Angles, ranked seventh and eighth last week, fall out of the top 10 after losing. Sequim and Centralia each moved up two spots.

Lakewood and Ellensburg move into the rankings this week.

1. Cascade Christian (9-0)
2. Meridian (9-0)
3. Connell (8-1)
4. Chelan (8-1)

7. King’s (8-1)
8. Zillah (9-0)

10. Omak (6-3)
Next: Cashmere (7-2), Goldendale (8-1), Nooksack Valley (6-3), Omak (6-3), Onalaska (7-2), Toledo (7-2).

Cashmere was the only top-10 that lost last week – the Bulldogs fell 27-21 to Omak – and was replaced in the rankings by Omak. Colville, King’s, Zillah and Royal all moved up one spot.

CLASS 2B
1. Colfax (8-0)
2. Napavine (9-0)
