Mount Tahoma senior Xavier Bazile has given an oral commitment to play basketball at the University of Idaho, according to Thunderbirds coach Owen Chambers.
Bazile committed to the Vandals last week shortly after visiting the Moscow, Idaho, campus. The 6-foot-3 Bazile will be a three-year starter this winter for Mount Tahoma. He was a second-team all-Narrows League Bay Division selection as a sophomore and a first-team pick as a junior. He averaged 19.6 points and 8 rebounds per game last season.
Bazile has played point guard, wing and post for Mount Tahoma, but Chambers expects him to settle in at guard for Idaho.
The University of Portland also recruited Bazile, who also received interest from a few schools for his play on the football field, Chambers said.
