What about the small schools. Last year there was 9 doubles in the 1A (a school with both boys and girls in the state tourney), last year our school and 3 sets of siblings in our programs. We have siblings again this year as do lots of small schools. 1A schools could very easliy have their boys and girls teams playing in different parts of the state. That is just wrong. Also, What if a place like Grandview in the 2A makes the regionals in Girls. They should not be allowed to play on their home floor in the state tournament. Also, What if their boys team is playing at a different site who is Grandview going to get to stay around and work their gym. Their AD for one will probably have to be with their boys team. We were promised nice “venues” for the first round and the kids would get the “state experience” mostly all I see is high school gyms. This is the same format we went from years ago. If it was such a great format why did we ever go away from it is my question. Lastly how about the father of a boys team and his daughter is on the girls team or the other way around. A mother or father coaching the girls team and son on the boys team. What are they supposed to do now for the biggest game of the season. All these situations happen in small schools.
