It’s no secret that high school coaches put in plenty of hours. Tom Webster of Port Townsend might put in more than any other coach in the state.
Webster was named the boys basketball coach at Port Townsend this month. He’s also the football and baseball coach.
Here’s what he told the Peninsula Daily News:
“I think after 20-plus years in all of those sports that I’ve been mentored by a lot of really good coaches,” Webster said. “If I’m not ready now then I’m never going to be ready.
“This just kind of fell into my lap [with coaches resigning positions]. I didn’t come here with that aspiration. It’s a little bit different, but I think it will work out.”
