Eight Washington football players, including five from the South Sound, will participate at Football University’s Top Gun all-star camp at the end of July.

Here are the players:
QB Kol Cassel, freshman,
RB Visa Thach, sophomore, Kentwood
RB Brandon Long, sophomore, Mead
QB Trey Wheeler, junior, Liberty
LB Joseph Mose, junior, Kent-Meridian
LB Brandon Wells, junior, Rogers (Puyallup)
QB Dylan Podolak, junior, Enumclaw
WR Terenn Houk, junior, Enumclaw

Here’s how the press release describes Top Gun:

These players were invited to Top Gun because of their outstanding performance at Football University and their high school teams this year. They will be joining the nation’s other top players to train with former NFL players and coaches.

Top Gun is the culmination of Football University’s 28-camp nationwide tour gathering the most elite performers from across the United States and allowing them to display their abilities together on one stage. Football University has an impressive alumni list that includes some of the top college football players in the nation such as, 2008’s No. 1 prospect and current Ohio State Buckeye Terrelle Pryor, 2009’s No. 1 prospect Bryce Brown, and 2010’s No. 1 prospect Ronald Powell, as well as U.S. Army All-Americans, Football University Youth All-Americans, and hundreds of Division I players.

Unfortunately, there was no mention of Maverick, Ice Man, Viper or Jester attending Top Gun.

QB, Zac Hill, Junior, North Central was also invited to the FBU Top Gun All-Star camp, but unfortunately, the dates conflict with North Central High School team camp and Zac felt that his school team camp should take prioirty over FBU.

I Had a great experience at Top Gun this year. It was a great opportunity to meet other great RB’s from around the nation. I am looking forward to next years Top Gun Camp.

P.S. I actually go to Mead Senior High School
