Final: Yelm 54, Lynnwood 51

The Tornados held off a late rally by Lynnwood to move on to Friday, and now have one more game to win in order to grab a trophy for the first time in school history.

Yelm won the game by keeping the Royals off the board, earning a 50-31 rebound advantage.

Austin Schorno led Yelm with 18 points and eight rebounds, shooting 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Katelyn Smith finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, and Anushka Maldonado finished with a double-double, contributing 13 points and grabbing 13 boards.


Down 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, the Tornados rallied to take a 27-21 lead at the half. Sophomore post Katelyn Smith led the charge, scoring 11 points in the first half, while teammate Anushka Maldonado chipped in eight points.
