The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has released its final enrollment count figures for the 2010-12 cycle.

You can view the results here. Not much has changed since early January, with a few notable exceptions:

– White River’s appeal to be a 2A school was granted.
– Yakima West Valley’s appeal to be a 3A school was granted.
– Sammamish’s appeal to be a 3A school was granted.

Tuesday’s highlights

Lincoln clipped Foss 50-47 and took over sole possession of first place in the Narrows League Bridge Division.

4A No. 3 Curtis took another step toward claiming the SPSL South title with its 80-75 win against Decatur.

2A No. 1 River Ridge edged 2A No. 2 Elma 68-63 in a matchup of top girls basketball teams.

A burst pipe under Mount Tahoma’s gym has forced Tuesday night’s boys basketball game against Stadium to be moved to Stadium. The game will tip-off at 5:15 p.m. and the girls will begin at 7 p.m. for a double-header.

I spoke with Tacoma School District athletic director Jennifer Kubista on Tuesday evening and she had some more information about future game changes:

– Mount Tahoma’s girls will play Bellarmine Prep at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Pierce College, and on Saturday they will face Central Kitsap at 3 p.m. at Lincoln. On Saturday, the junior varsity game will start at 1 p.m.

Enumclaw and Orting rolled to team titles at the Dream Duals wrestling tournamanet Saturday at East Valley High School in Spokane.

The Hornets went 3-0 against Class 3A teams and the Cardinals were 3-0 against 1A teams. Moses Lake and Deer Park won the 4A and 2A tourneys. Rogers of Puyallup finished 2-1 in and Graham-Kapowsin was 1-2 in 4A.

The News Tribune’s Northwest Nuggets high school football recruiting package will run in Sunday’s newspaper and online. Washington football beat writer Todd Milles and myself have been working the phones the last couple weeks for this year’s edition, the 23rd that The News Tribune has completed.

SHELTON SLIMS DOWN
Auburn lineman Danny Shelton has shed about 40 pounds since the end of the football season. The 6-foot-3 junior says he weighs around 283 pounds.

Shelton turned out for the Trojans wrestling team for the first time and credited the grueling workouts to his weight loss. He must weigh less than 285 pounds to be eligible to wrestle in the heavyweight division.
