Recapping Wednesday’s hoops
Nearly all of the holiday tournaments are over. We saw some blowouts, some upsets and a few thrillers.
Third-ranked Curtis was the biggest winner of the break, establishing itself as a team to be reckoned with. The undefeated Vikings won the Spokane Holiday Showcase by beating Kentridge, 61-56, at Spokane Falls CC. Darius Johnson-Wilson led Curtis (10-0) with 16 points. Chargers guard Gary Bell scored a game-high 26 points.
Puyallup scored a couple nice wins this week, beating Wenatchee on a buzzer-beater on Tuesday and toppling No. 5 Mead on Wednesday at Wenatchee.
