Peninsula golf coach Tony Robydek has been playing golf for more than 30 years and has an astonishing nine holes-in-one to his name. But he’s got nothing on Seahawks sophomore Rachel Lewis.

Not only did the 15-year-old hit her first hole-in-one on Tuesday at Brookdale Golf Club in Spanaway, she scored a double-eagle on the par-4, 245-yard ninth hole.

“I’ve been golfing all my life and I’ve never seen a double-eagle,” Robydek said. “It was pretty incredible.”

Robydek said Lewis, the top golfer in the SPSL 3A,  initially didn’t believe she had hit a hole-in-one.

“She didn’t see it go in,” he said, “and she didn’t believe it until we went up there and saw the ball in the hole.”
