Prep Football: Thursday night wrap-up, Week 10 playoff games *UPDATED

That was quite a Thursday night of high school football. Top-ranked Skyline stumbled, Federal Way’s Trenton Pinson set the SPSL single game record for touchdowns and the Narrows League solidified its postseason participants.

In a meeting of the top two ranked teams in Class 4A, No. 2 Bothell upended No. 1 Skyline, 25-20. The Cougars scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1 minute, 4 seconds left. The win gives Bothell KingCo’s No. 1 seed and the Spartans get the league’s No. 2 seed.

In SPSL North action, Trenton Pinson broke the league’s single-game touchdown record, scoring seven times in Federal Way’s 69-21 victory over Jefferson. The 6-foot, 185-pound senior scored on runs of 56, 1, 15, 9, 8, 5 and 4 yards, bringing his season total to 20 touchdowns. Pinson scored all of his touchdowns in the first half, as the Eagles led 42-0 at the end of the first quarter and 63-7 at halftime. He carried 13 times for 177 yards.  Read more »

Federal Way hoops team cleared of any wrongdoing

“I find no factual support for any of the allegations in this matter, and therefore no factual support for any suggestion that the FWHS boys basketball team should be sanctioned under WIAA rules,” Ganson wrote in the report, which The News Tribune received on Wednesday.
