Class 2A



Northwest District

State berths:
Four

Clinched: None

Still dreaming: Sultan, Squalicum, Burlington-Edison, Archbishop Murphy, Anacortes, Cedarcrest, Bellingham, Lynden

The lowdown: Squalicum, Archbishop Murphy, Anacortes and Lynden all won first-round games on Friday. Semifinal winner-to-state games are: Squalicum vs. ATM and Anacortes vs. Lynden on Monday.

West Central District

State berths:
Three

Clinched: None

Still dreaming: Steilacoom, Kingston, Fife, Eatonville

The lowdown: In the first round on Friday, Steilacoom beat Interlake and Fife beat North Mason. On Tuesday at Foss, Steilacoom will play Kingston and Fife will play Eatonville in winner-to-state games.

CWAC

State berths:
Three

Clinched: None

Still dreaming: Grandview, Wapato Othello, Ellensburg, Yakima East Valley, Prosser

The lowdown: We’ve got two winner-to-state semifinals on Saturday in Othello-East Valley and Ellensburg-Prosser. The losers of those games will meet either Grandview or Wapato in a consolation bracket for the third state berth.

Southwest District

State berths:
Four

Clinched: None

Still dreaming: Tumwater, Ridgefield, Mark Morris, R.A. Long, Elma, River Ridge, Hockinson

The lowdown: Tumwater, Black Hills, Elma and Hockinson all won first-round games on Friday.


Great Northern League

State berths:
Two

Clinched: None

Still dreaming: Medical Lake, Spokane West Valley, Colville, Cheney, Clarkston, Pullman

The lowdown: In the first round on Friday, Colville eliminated Cheney and Spokane West Valley ended Medical Lake’s season.


Class 1A



Tri-District

State berths:
Five

Clinched: Seattle Christian, Lynden Christian, Bellevue Christian

Still dreaming: King’s, Chimacum, Vashon, Nooksack Valley

The lowdown: Lynden Christian gave Seattle Christian its first loss of the season on Friday. The Lyncs advanced to tonight’s title game and Seattle Christian gets the No. 3 seed to state. Two winner-to-state, loser-out games are scheduled for Saturday: King’s-Chimacum and Vashon-Nooksack Valley.

SCAC

State berths:
Four

Clinched: Connell, Zillah

Still dreaming: Naches Valley, Granger, Mabton, Burbank

The lowdown: On Friday, Zillah beat Connell for the district title for the No. 1 seed to state. Connell is No. 2. In a pair of winner-to-state, loser-out games Burbank beat Mabton in overtime and Granger beat Naches Valley,

Caribou Trail/Northeast

State berths:
Three

Clinched: None

Still dreaming: Lakeside, Freeman, Cascade, Chelan

The lowdown: Freeman and Cascade clinched state berths on Friday night. The two will play tonight at 6 p.m. for the district title and seeding to state. Lakside and Chelan have a winner-to-state, loser-out game.

Southwest District

State berths:
Four

Clinched: La Center, Rainier, Toledo, Onalaska

Still dreaming: None

The lowdown: This district’s four state-bound teams are confirmed, all that’s left is the seeding. Toledo and Onalaska will play for the title and La Center and Rainier will meet for third-/fourth-place on Saturday.
