Video shows Cochrane didn’t commit violation

Video has surfaced that shows Bellarmine Prep distance runner Nicole Cochrane should not have been disqualified.

The video of the Class 4A girls 3,200-meter race at last week’s Star Track track and field meet in Pasco shows that it was Cochrane’s teammate who ran inside the lane line. But an official ruled it was Cochrane and the Harvard-bound runner was disqualified 10 minutes after winning the race.

Here is the link to Flotrack.com’s video.

It is unlikely that the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association will officially award Cochrane first place. The use of video is prohibited when making rulings and judgment calls are non-reviewable.
