Untouchables untouched

All 13 of The News Tribune’s “untouchables” won state championships.

Here’s are some highlights folks will remember from Mat Classic XX:

Six wrestlers — Michael Mangrum, Jim Belleville, Jordan Hancock, Ryan DesRoches and Erich Schmidtke — won their third state title.

Belleville could become the fifth wrestler in state history — and first since Brandon Sitch in 2006 — to win four state titles next season.

Enumclaw ended Sedro-Woolley’s six-year reign as 3A state champions. The Cubs finished fourth.

There’s a new player in 4A and it’s the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles. The three-year-old school almost beat big, bad Lake Stevens, which won its fifth title since 2000.

What will you remember most?
