The Tides suffered their second loss in three games at the hands of Bothell.

Bothell’s Johnny Hekker (a top high school quarterback prospect) blocked Ted Steingraber’s 3-pointer with 14 seconds remaining, picked up the loose ball and went the length of the court for an emphatic dunk to seal the win. Bothell outscored Gig 22-14 in the fourth quarter, while shooting 60 percent from the field in the final two quarters.

Hekker finished with 18 points, while Neddy Dirini and Albert Horswill added 14 points each.

Gig got a workmanlike effort from big man Mathias Ward, who finished with 26 points and 17 rebounds, but shot just 9-of-23 from the field. Teammate Geoff McIntosh added 21 points, including four 3-pointers. But the Tides were an shot an anemic 19-of-62 from the field, including 4-of-20 from 3-point range.
