So Ryan made me look like a liar by not putting up his rankings last week (nudge, nudge), but perhaps he’ll get to them in the next few days as an early Christmas present for all the South Sound basketball fans (although I know better than to make any concrete promises on his behalf).

Speaking of Ryan, if you didn’t see it, his wrestling preview on Graham-Kapowsin’s Brad Sweet ran last week. My boys swimming preview runs in tomorrow’s paper (on a good group of guys from Capital), and we have gymnastics and bowling stories scheduled for next Thursday.

I probably won’t get to an updated set of girls’ rankings this week, as I’m actually down in Phoenix (where it’s currently clear and 61 degrees…) at the Nike Tournament of Champions. Northwest teams Auburn Riverside (yeah, those Ravens) and Southridge (Beaverton, Ore.) both won their first round games today. My intention is to post new rankings in six days (for those of you keeping score, that would be Dec. 25).

And if you’re absolutely at a loss for preps coverage, leave us a note to keep us informed of players or teams we may be missing (or saving for later in the season).
