There’s plenty of action happening this weekend if you’re interesting in watching high school sports.

Lincoln High will host its annual Tacoma Invitational at Mount Tahoma Stadium, which I wrote about in today’s paper. Check out this link l to read about this weekend’s event, along with state and area leaders in track and field.

The annual Pasco Invitational also takes place on Saturday, with several local teams making the trek across the Cascades to compete.

For fastpitch fans, the second annual Fastpitch Festival, hosted by Centralia High, will take place Saturday at Husky Softball Stadium. The event was cancelled a few weeks ago because of bad weather. Matchups include Concrete vs. Brewster, 10 a.m.; Centralia vs. Bonney Lake, noon; Everett vs. Liberty, 2 p.m.; Kamiak vs. North Mason, 4 p.m.

Also, this week’s high school baseball poll is listed below. Bellarmine Prep snuck in at No. 10 for Class 4A school, but suffered two, one-run losses to Olympia this week. Other local teams in the pll include Auburn, ranked No. 1 in the Class 3A poll, and Eatonville and Steilacoom, two undefeated teams in Class 2A that will play next Friday. Local teams that have fared well but still haven’t managed to nudge their way into the poll include Peninsula and Stadium.
