The Eagles lost yet another heartbreaker late in the game. Terrell Smith had his pocket picked with time winding down, on the play Smith grabbed a Redmond player resulting in an intentional foul. He later fouled out with less than 30 seconds to play, leaving freshman Isiah Umipig the player to take the potential game-tying 3-pointer with eight seconds remaining. Umipig, a good shooter in his own right, didn’t draw iron on that shot. He did hit a long jump shot at the buzzer, but Redmond already had a four-point lead.

Smith finished with a game-high 27 points, while teammate Aaron Broussard added 17 and 7 rebounds.

Redmond got 22 points from gritty shooting guard Galen Squiers and 16 from Zach Aaron.
