Several South Sound teams are over in eastern Washington competing in the state volleyball championships.
In Class 4A action, Spanaway Lake continues to play well, defeating Heritage in the opening round 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22. The Sentinels will face Kamiak, who defeated Bellarmine 25-27, 25-16, 26-24, 25-21. The Lions drop to the consolation bracket.
Rogers d. Shadle park 25-16, 25-23, 27-25 and will play Lewis & Clark in the quarterfinals.
Kentlake and Kentwood play later this afternoon.
In Class 3A, Sumner lost a tough match to Bainbridge Island, 25-17, 25-13, 21-25, 16-25, 15-8. The Spartans drop to the consolation bracket.
Auburn Riverside, Auburn Mountainview and Enumclaw will play later today.
In Class 1A, Cascade Christian advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over Zillah, 25-15, 17-25, 25-22, 25-11. The Cougars will face Chewelah in the quarterfinals.
And Annie Wright lost to Connell 14-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-13 and dropped to the consolation round.
Life Christian, North Mason, Fife and Eatonville have yet to play.
