Prep Poll Question of the Week

Already this season several coaches have decided to go for two in the final moments of the game with mixed results.

Lakes went for two and made it earlier this season, grabbing a 32-31 win over South Kitsap.

And just last week, Olympic went for two and was stopped, letting Peninsula hang on to a 20-19 win.

You’re the coach. You’ve got the headset on, and you’re team just scored a touchdown and is losing by one point with just three seconds left on

Reeling Divish In

It only took five weeks, but I finally beat my nemesis Ryan Divish.

After an impressive 12-1 week I’ve cut Divish’s lead to eight games at the midseason point. Guest picker David Paulson also had a good week at 11-2, while Ryan finished a distant third at 9-4.

Thanks David for picking this week. I’ll have to admit it’s been fun watching Ryan pout around the office. And it will be even more enjoyable when I beat him again this week.

A Look Back, A look Ahead

Rogers.JPG

A recap of good performances last week in prep sports.

The Rogers High volleyball team proved it’s for real by beating cross-town rival Puyallup in three straight games, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19.

Sophomore Ashleigh Pollard, pictured above in this Bruce Kellman photo in the right side of the picture jumping, is a talented athlete to watch for in the future. The 5-11 outside hitter had 20 kills and five aces in the win over the Vikings.

In the high school football game of the week, No. 2-ranked Puyallup continued its march through the
