Prep picks: Down to crunch time

Heading into the last week of the regular season Ryan gained a game on me after going 8-5 last week. I finished 7-6, tied with guest picker Toney Henderson of Gig Harbor High.

Thanks for playing, Toney.

This week we decided to switch it up, bringing in Graham-Kapowsin coach Eric Kurle as our guest picker. Kurle guided the Eagles into the postseason in only the second year of the school’s existence. Kurle should be pretty tough to beat with his knowledge of South Sound football, so we’ll se how it goes.

He’s already on my bad side

Pucker up, sister

Ryan and I tied last week in the weekly prep picks. We both went 7-6, while guest picker Tyler Bowen struggled to a 5-8 finish. Sorry Tyler, but thanks for playing.

I still remain seven games back, with plenty of season left and another brutal week of tough picks ahead.

This week’s guest picker is Gig Harbor’s Toney Henderson. His Tides take on South Kitsap in what has become a big rivalry between the two schools over the past decade.

Good luck, Toney.

I think this week I need to pick up some games or

Football playoff outlook

With the prep football postseason fast approaching, here’s a quick look at the leagues in the South Sound and what teams are fighting for playoff berths.

Narrows League Bridge Division

South Kitsap (5-2 overall, 3-0 Bridge Division)

On the Bubble:

Gig Harbor (4-3, 2-1)

Wilson (3-4, 2-1)

Lincoln (4-3, 1-2)

The Skinny: This one is pretty complex, so I asked for some help. Here are the scenarios provided by Bellarmine AD Ed Ploof.

If South Kitsap beats Gig Harbor and Wilson beats Lincoln, it’s SK 1, Wilson 2 and

Prep picks: Williams on a roll

Another prep football week has passed, and miraculously I beat Ryan again this week. I finished 11-2, along with guest picker Cody Pollock, while Ryancame in at 10-3.

I see a trend here, and it’s not a good one for Divish.

We’ll see if the intense man from Montana (watch out for Divish on the basketball court. It ain’t pretty.) can turn things around this week.

There’s several good games this weekend, so it will be interesting to hear your opinions on this week’s games.

Thanks, Cody for picking this week. And good luck to our
