Seeking Redemption

OK, I have to give the Mountain Man from Montana props. He’s already two games up after Week 1 of the prep season.


Both Ryan Divish and guest picker Roman Pula finished 9-4 overall, while I barely finished above .500 at 7-6.


No matter. There’s a lot of season left.


Thanks Roman for being our first victim. This week’s guest picker is Darriell Beaumonte, who rushed for 293 yards and 3 touchdowns last week against Mt. Rainier.

THE WEEK THAT WAS

The Monday holiday messed up my entire internal clock. I missed out on getting schooled by youngsters at YMCA noon hoops and started my week instead with Tuesday old-guy hoops where my whole goal is not get drenched by my opponent’s sweat soaked shirt.

Room To Run


Curtis running backs Brandon Blanks and Josh Walker found plenty of open space against Columbia River Saturday afternoon in the annual Emerald City Kickoff Classic at Qwest Field.


The two combined for nearly 200 yards, helping head coach Bob Lucey get off to a good start in his final year at the University Place School.


The Vikings defeated the Chieftains 42-14. Blanks, shown above in this Jim Bryant photo, ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, while Walker finished with 111 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.
