		<title>Lawmakers hear from Olympia downtown merchants, other Main Street members</title>

The local group, led by ODA&#8217;s executive director, <strong>Connie Lorenz</strong>, had displays in a large Senate meeting room that told the story of their communities.</p> <p>Olympia is one of 13 <a href="http://www.preservationnation.org/main-street/about-main-street/#.USWNZR04vq0">nationally-certified communities </a>in Washington, and the groups collectively claim to have created 12,665 new jobs since 1991. All told, Lorenz said there are 27 programs <a href="http://www.dahp.wa.gov/programs/mainstreet-program">certified at</a> <a href="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/politicsblog/2013/02/20/lawmakers-hear-from-olympia-downtown-merchants-other-main-street-members/" class="ellipsis">&#8230;</a></p>
