Former House Republican budget writer Tom Huff‘s memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday in Gig Harbor. He had suffered from pulmonary fibrosis since December and died Sunday at the age of 80.

A news obituary about Huff is here. Huff was a retired Sears-executive-turned legislator who co-wrote House budgets in 1999-200o when the House Republicans and Democrats were in a 49-49 tie, and he’d been the House Appropriations chair in 1997-1998 when the GOP had the majority. Huff more recently served in 2011-12 as a member of the Washington State Redistricting Commission.

Here are details released by the House Chief Clerk’s Office about the memorial:

Celebration of Life for Tom Huff is scheduled on Saturday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow:

St. Nicholas Catholic Church

3510 Rosedale Street NW

Gig Harbor, WA 98335
