Ecology Director Ted Sturdevant will leave the job of running the state’s environmental agency to become Gov.-elect Jay Inslee‘s policy director and emissary to the Legislature.

Inslee said he would merge the governor’s policy office with the group that lobbies lawmakers and put Sturdevant in charge of both, as part of a reshuffling of duties that he said would cut four to eight positions in the governor’s office.
