The Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer’s Office will begin mailing 2010 property tax bills on Tuesday.
Statistics provided by the office show plummeting home values will mean lower tax bills for many county residents. But not everyone will get a break.
According to the assessor’s office:
• Average tax bills fell in 14 of 23 Pierce County cities and towns. The average bill is down $336 – or more than 13 percent – from last year in Pacific. Average bills are down $412 (10.4 percent) in Steilacoom and $227 (8 percent) in Eatonville. The average Tacoma bill is down $157 (5.5 percent) …
