Tacoma: Kim Bedier, general manager of Everett’s Comcast Arena, is hired as city’s new Public Assembly Facilities director

Tacoma City Manager T.C. Broadnax announced today he has hired Kim Bedier of Global Spectrum — a private arena management firm that supervises operations at Everett’s Comcast Arena — as the city’s new public assembly facilities director.

“I’m extremely excited to join the City of Tacoma,” Bedier is quoted in a city press release issued today. “I look forward to collaborating with the community and its leadership to enhance the great things already happening with the public venues. I welcome the opportunity to work with the existing team to explore the potential that exists here.”

Tacoma: City dismisses ethics complaint against former facilities director Mike Combs stemming from Dome study

UPDATED: 5:28 p.m. In a phone interview this afternoon, Combs said he is satisfied with the review’s findings.

“It’s what I expected,” he said. “…What I was doing was working on this as a private citizen. I’m not a consultant or a city employee any more.”
