Following the money in Jean Berkey legal fight? Now it leads to pro-Tom Campbell PAC

Seattle political consulting firm Moxie Media is amending its campaign disclosures in response to a complaint filed by Rep. Sen. Jean Berkey, the Everett Democrat who says Moxie’s mailers against her deceived voters by hiding their funding source.

Oddly enough, the new money trail leads to a South Sound race miles away from the one where Berkey is asking to have her primary election defeat thrown out over the mailers.

Before the Aug. 17 primary, voters in the 2nd Legislative District straddling Pierce and Thurston counties received mailers that said they were paid for by PACs called

Complaint against JT Wilcox campaign for use of dairy logo dismissed by PDC

It was a bit of a stretch to begin with, but interesting nonetheless. A Yelm woman complained to the state Public Disclosure Commission that JT Wilcox’s campaign had received something of value from a company that is hadn’t disclosed.

And what was that? The use of the well-established logo of Wilcox Family Farms. Wilcox’s campaign logo was very similar to the company’s logo. Therefore he benefited from the good will established by the company as well as the name identification built from appearing on egg cartons and advertising, the complaint alleged.

2nd District Representative Debate:                                   

The 2nd & 29th Districts Republican Club is hosting a debate featuring incumbent 2nd District State Representative Tom Campbell and challenger J.T. Wilcox.  The meeting, which is open to the public, begins at 7:00 PM sharp, June 2nd, in the Weeks-Dryers Fellowship Hall,  220 134th St. So. Parkland.
