Jesse Young raises $11,000 in latest 6th Congressional District filings

Young, a Republican business consultant from Gig Harbor, today reported raising $11,000 in the second quarter as he tries to defeat the rest of a crowded field to take on Derek Kilmer.

Young also has loaned his campaign more than $102,000.

The two Republicans from Gig Harbor who challenged Rep. Norm Dicks last year, attorney Doug Cloud and business technology consultant Jesse Young of Gig Harbor, will return to try again for what is now an open seat.

They’re joined by at least one other announced candidate, Bob Sauerwein of Port Orchard, who says on his website he works in the insurance industry.

Republican strategists will be looking for a more well-known candidate such as Rep. Jan Angel of Port Orchard, who said she hasn’t yet had time to think about running. She’s busy at the Legislature, Angel said.
