The Second District Democrats elected a new Chair and a new Vice Chair of Administration at their regular meeting October 5.

Former chair Jeff Stephan of Eatonville recently resigned due to job relocation. The new Chair is Jackie Jo Reid from Yelm. After electing their new chair, the organization had to fill her former position of Vice Chair of Administration. Ken Stevenson of Spanaway was selected for this post.

There hasn’t been a state political convention in Vancouver since I started covering politics in 1981. Next year, there will be two.

Kathie Durbin of The Columbian has a story today saying that state Democrats will convene there next summer on June 25 and 26.

State Republicans have already announced they will hold their 2010 convention June 10 and 12.
