A Seattle-based atheists group asked state officials for permission today for an outdoor display on the Capitol Campus.
Jerry Schiffelbein, treasurer for Seattle Atheists and activist in other free-thought groups that want a separation between church and state, said the message is less confrontational than what went up last year. It will say:
“In this holiday season let us remember that kindness, charity and goodwill transcend belief, creed or religion.”
The request to display the sign near the Capitol’s outdoor Tivoli Fountain is under review along
