Budget negotiators are still talking and have yet to announce the deal that Gov. Jay Inslee said was “imminent” 18 hours ago. House Democrats, who are holding a caucus at 10 a.m., say there is no deal yet.

A series of amendments would decide the details of the piece of the plan that funds Pierce County mass transit: proposed authority for Pierce Transit to create a subdistrict where voters could approve higher sales taxes. The amendments would decide whether the subdistrict could exist for three years or five and whether it could be renewed.
