The state courts system announced today that Christine Quinn-Brintnall, who ran unopposed last fall for her third term on the Court of Appeals, is battling melanoma.
The 61-year-old first joined the court in 2000 and sits on the court’s division two located in Tacoma. She previously was a deputy prosecuting attorney for Pierce County.
In a release, the courts system said Quinn-Brintnall is working with her colleagues to coordinate treatment plans to avoid any disruptions in the court’s calendar and operations.
“I am so grateful for the support of my family, friends and coworkers at the Court of Appeals,” Quinn-Brintnall said in a statement. “While I am optimistic I will combat this disease, I welcome your prayers as I continue on with my treatment in the coming months.”
