It’s House Democrats’ turn this week to reveal how they would add more than $1 billion into schools.
And while it’s likely to look more like Gov. Jay Inslee‘s tax-heavy plan than the Senate’s special-fund-raiding proposal, we won’t know the details until at least Wednesday on exactly what House budget writer Rep. Ross Hunter will bring forward.
Also this week, House Democrats reportedly plan to put out their latest version of a transportation tax-hiking proposal. In the meantime, two no-new-taxes transportation plans are moving through the Legislature, and both are to get votes today at 1:30 p.m. in the House and Senate transportation committees.
The House Capital Budget Committee will hold an 8 a.m. public hearing and possible vote today on whether to require school districts to implement emergency response systems.
