It’s budget week. Senate Republicans and Democrats have been negotiating with a goal of announcing a budget plan early this week.

Rep. Judy Clibborn releases a transportation budget Wednesday, not including taxes the Mercer Island Democrat has proposed separately. A bipartisan Senate transportation budget is due to follow a day later.

The Reproductive Parity Act will get a 10 a.m. hearing today in front of the Senate Committee on Health Care. The proposal would require all health care plans that offer maternity care to also cover abortion services. House Bill 1044 is sponsored by Rep. Eileen Cody, D-West Seattle.

Lawmakers in the Senate Law and Justice Committee could vote at their 1:30 p.m. meeting today on House Bill 1341, allowing compensation for wrongful convictions, and House Bill 1552, which aims to reduce scrap metal theft.
