Honeyford plans informational briefings in the John A. Cherberg building that will “bring attention to the positive, life-saving uses of unmanned aircraft in Washington,” he said.

The briefings for lawmakers, staff and the media include hands-on demonstrations by the founder of a Washington unmanned-aircraft company later acquired by Boeing.

Boeing lobbied against a bill in the Legislature this year to regulate drones, which died despite support from liberals and conservatives.

Elsewhere, committees plan votes on a series of bills today, including mental health measures in the House Judiciary Committee this morning and school-reform proposals in the Senate Education Committee this afternoon.
