A public hearing is scheduled for 8 a.m. on a bill that would expand preschool using money from marijuana legalization.
It’s in the Senate Education Committee. The same panel is hearing testimony on a measure that changes how online classes are funded. It’s also hearing a bill with several proposals that supporters hope will narrow the achievement gap between white and minority students, or as the bill calls it using the latest education buzzword, the “opportunity gap.”
Elsewhere, an estimated 800 to 1,000 people will be gathering on the Capitol Campus today for Latino Legislative Day, sponsored by the Latino Civic Alliance.
