State lawmakers will be pushing furiously to meet a deadline of 5 p.m. Wednesday to move most House bills out of the House and Senate bills out of the Senate.

The House spent much of Saturday at work. They got many of their fairly noncontroversial proposals out of the way, although there were still some interesting ones in that bunch, including House Bill 1941, helping people who claim not to receive their toll bills, and House Bill 1552, an attempt to crack down on metal theft.

Today they will be back on the floor, after an 8 a.m. public hearing on Gov. Jay Inslee’s study bill on greenhouse-gas emissions. House Bill 1915 is before the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.
