The buzz in the Senate today will come during a hearing on a proposal that would provide limited civil immunity for beekeepers. Sen. Steve Litzow, R-Mercer Island, is sponsoring the bill. The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. in front of the Agriculture, Water and Rural Economic Development Committee.

Child care reform and mental health issues will be up for discussion when the Senate Human Services & Corrections Committee holds a 10 a.m. hearing.

And the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee will hold a hearing on a social-media bill. SB 5211 would prohibit employers “from requiring an employee or prospective employee to submit or give access to social networking account information that is not in the public domain.”

Many groups will converge on the Capitol today. Among the groups scheduled to rally or lobby: Planned Parenthood; groups taking part in Interfaith Advocacy Day; the Washington Student Association; Service Employees International Union Local 925; and Washington Community Action Network.
