It was standing room only as some 300 supporters crowded into the Venice Room at the The Hotel Murano  in downtown Tacoma to hear the  results:  Derek Kilmer will be the next U.S. Congressman to represent Washington State’s 6th Congressional District.

As early returns began to comein, Kilmer quickly developed an early lead and never relinquished it, carrying every county in the 6th District.

The former state senator thanked supporters and said politicians need to “stop defining success as making the other guys look like failures.”
