There’s no place better to watch the election results than in a chair in front of one of the big screens at the election night party at the Westin Hotel.
“I lugged my chair over here from across the room,” said Alice Woldt of Seattle. “I never miss a primary night or a general election night.”
Woldt, who has watched the returns from the Westin’s ballroom almost every year since 1976, brought several friends to tonight’s party to experience the excitement.
“We’re party people,” said Woldt’s friend Jan Dixon of Seattle.
There may not be room to walk, but there’s plenty of reason to smile and cheer at the Seattle Democrat Party.
“I don’t know what I’d do if every single initiative and person I voted for won,” Anthony Derrick of Seattle told his friends at the
Westin Hotel. “It’s encouraging to see people voting for these things. It’s just incredible.”
Across the ballroom from Derrick, Karen Choyce of Newcastle, toting a Big Bird stuffed animal, shared the sentiment.
“He’s here because Obama’s going to save him,” Choyce said of her companion.
