A state Democratic Party spokesman said the party has reported a burglary early this morning at its campaign headquarters in Seattle, which doubles as a campaign office for President Barack Obama and gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee.

UPDATE 11:33 a.m.: The building is at 901 Rainier Ave. South. The AP reports there’s no political motivation suspected so far:

It was reported at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday by someone arriving for work who found a broken window and open door.

Officers searched the building and area for suspects and found none. It’s not yet known what was taken.

Spokesman Mark Jamieson says there’s no immediate indication of a political motivation. He says it’s a burglary in a building that happens to house campaign folks.

UPDATE 2:17 p.m.: AP adds that equipment was taken:

Jaime Smith, spokeswoman for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee, said her laptop was among the stolen items.

“There was equipment that was taken from throughout the building. There was some damage that was done. The police were in here early. They got here pretty quickly,” she said.
