In another sign the governor’s race may be shifting toward the Democrat, a KING-5 television poll released today shows Jay Inslee pulling ahead of Republican Rob McKenna by a 49-to-44 margin with 7 percent undecided.

A similar poll also by Survey USA in July showed Inslee had a 1 percentage point edge, well within the margin of error; various polls done early in the year showed McKenna consistently ahead.

KING-5 is reporting on the poll – showing a huge gender gap for McKenna, who trails the Democrat by 14 points among women identified as likely voters. The poll of 607 registered voters was done Sept. 7-9 and has an error margin of plus- or minus-4 percent.
