Michael Snodgrass, an 18-year-old from Olympia, is blogging from the convention in Charlotte. Here are some excerpts:

Day 3 – Breakfast Meeting

… We are front row stage right! Perfect for camera shots on the walk up. Our neighbor is New Hampshire and we are hoping future candidates will want to come up to them and in turn will show us some attention. Should be a lot of fun overall. Excited for my first Youth Council meeting later. …

Day 3 – Youth Council

Today at noon, the first of two Youth Council meetings was held. There we heard from a lot of inspiring speakers and found out a little bit more about College Democrats of America (CDA) and the Young Democrats of America (YDA). We started the meeting by watching a video from the Obama people. It was a short one describing where the “Fired Up, Ready to Go” chant came from. It was a quick and funny movie that woke you up real fast. …

… Our last special guest was the Secretary of the Democratic National Committee, Alice Travis Germond. She told us of her personal efforts to increase youth involvement as well as getting us all excited for what was to come in the next couple of days. One really interesting fact was that there are 644 young democrats (ages 35 and down) attending the convention, with 200 odd of them being students. …
