Capitol Dome cleaning halted after scaffolding breaks

Work to clean and repair stone work on the state Capitol’s dome was halted this morning after scaffolding broke loose and a worker dangled until fire crews could get him down. The incident is under

Steve Valandra of the state Department of Enterprise Services said no one was hurt. He said the contractor has halted all work on the project until all safety and scaffolding equipment can be rechecked.
