Four-term Republican Rep. Dave Reichert of Auburn will face Democrat Karen Porterfield of Issaquah, who is leading a field of five challengers with nearly 29 percent of the vote. Reichert remains on top with 50 percent.

Porterfield, an administrator at Seattle University, is edging out fellow Democrat Keith Arnold of Auburn, Republicans Keith Swank of Puyallup and Ernest Huber of Issaquah and independent James Windle of Snoqualmie Pass.

Redistricting has made the 8th a more Republican district. The redrawing of the congressional map earlier this year moved Bellevue out of the 8th District and added Kittitas and Chelan counties. Kittitas and Chelan counties were previously in the 4th District, which is represented by nine-term Republican Doc Hastings, who won his last re-election with 63 percent of the vote in Kittitas County and 68 percent of the vote in Chelan County.
