Angel, Ashabraner leading for House in 26th Legislative District

Early voting results indicate Gig Harbor eighth-grade U.S. history teacher Karin Ashabraner will be the fall challenger to Republican Rep. Jan Angel of Port Orchard.

Stephen Greer of Wauna, an attorney running as a Democrat, is in third place in tonight’s primary, which advances the top two vote-getters. Greer hadn’t been raising much money in a district that tends to be home to expensive races as a result of its balance between Republican and Democratic voters.

Angel leads both Democrats with 56 percent of the vote, while Ashabraner has 30 percent.
