A political action committee that recently distributed two attack mailers about 27th District senate candidate Jack Connelly‘s ties to an affordable housing nonprofit that misspent public funds has finally submitted its reports to the state’s campaign finance watchdog, records show.
As we’ve reported (here, here and here), the Tacomans for Integrity in Government PAC failed to submit required reports to the state’s Public Disclosure Commission about the mailers’ costs and who funded them. The group’s failure to properly report its activities has drawn several complaints.
Connelly, a Tacoma trial lawyer, has disputed the claims made in the mailers. His opponent, fellow Democrat and state Rep. Jeannie Darneille, has said she did not coordinate about the mailers with the group’s members, all of whom have personally contributed donations to her campaign.
