Romney wins 34 of 40 delegates awarded at Tacoma convention

Thirty-four Washington delegates pledged to Mitt Romney are headed to the Republican National Convention.

Three state party leaders are not bound in the same way but are expected to vote for Romney. That would leave the former Massachusetts governor with the support of all but six of Washington’s delegation to the Tampa., Fla., convention.

Romney swept the 10 statewide delegates today, a day after Ron Paul supporters managed to win two of the 10 local-level elections and send at least five of their own to Tampa.
